Storm camp setup is well underway with the team heading down tonight to Ngaruawahia CYC.  You'd be amazed to see how quickly they turn an empty gym into a worship centre.  Carpet goes down, a stage is built, wires are strung, curtains hung, lighting and sound systems installed, instruments set up and then there is time for a prayer meeting in there as well to dedicate the whole weekend to the Lord.  What an amazing team of people we have and what an amazing weekend we are in for - the Psalmist said it well in Psa 110:3 "Your people shall be volunteers In the day of Your power".

The Servolution clean up team were out in force today loving our community through acts of service.  Well done to everyone who came out and served.  Seven plus bags of rubbish were collected and the streets of Homai now look a lot cleaner.  Servolution which began with a handful of churches in Manurewa has now spread to over 40 churches in New Zealand and spilt over to Australia as well.  It is a great event that allows us as the church to demonstrate to our community in a practical way how much God loves them. 

On Sunday Louisa Wall, Labour MP for Manurewa, visited us at MNL.  Louisa said she felt a lot of love in our church and asked us as a church to get involved in sharing that love with the community.  Specifically she said in the challenges we as a community face around prostitution and alcohol outlets.

It was great opportunity to build connection and we were able to present her with the amazing dried flax arrangement she is holding made by Jasmin who is standing next to Louisa in the photo.
